At Vista del Valle Plantation Inn in Alujela we stayed in the Ylang Ylang cottage, a very private octagonal wood-and-thatch cabin surrounded by jungle.

Vista del Valle is a coffee and orange plantation as well as a horse farm.

The patio/balcony is so private that the shower is located there.
The rest of the bathroom in inside the cottage.
Looking inside the octagonal cottage. At right is the bed covered with mosquito netting.
This is the dining pavilion, overlooking the Rio Grande Canyon.
Among the plantings at Vista del Valle are several varieties of orchids, the national flower of Costa Rica.
We took at taxi to Sarchi to buy crafts before heading home. This is the church in the town square.
Sarchi is famous for its ornately painted ox carts.
