Join us for Letterforum 2006

The Washington Calligraphers Guild invites you to be a part of Letterforum 2006, the 26th international gathering of lettering artists, to be held in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, a region rich in Colonial and Civil War history. We will gather on the lovely campus of James Madison University July 22-29 to spend a week immersed in all aspects of our art and draw fresh inspiration from the community of our fellow calligraphic artists.
  HIGHLIGHTS:

A wide range of classes (30 hours of instruction) offered at all levels of experience, guided by such world-renowned calligraphic artists as Sheila and Julian Waters, Charlie Hughes, Charles Pearce and Ieuan Rees.

Classes will be held daily from Sunday, July 23 to Friday, July 28. The Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday class hours are 8:30-11:30 am and 1-4:30 pm. The Tuesday and Friday classes will be held in the morning only, 8:30-11:30 am.

90-minute mini-workshops where you can try a new lettering style, sample a new technique or test a new tool with skilled and knowledgeable instructors.

Stimulating exhibits and evening programs.
Conference fee includes on-campus housing for seven nights (Saturday, July 22 through Friday, July 28) and most meals.
In addition to the week-long opportunity to browse and buy an enormous selection of calligraphic art supplies and books from major vendors, there will be a four-day trade show and a "Peanut Gallery" featuring conference merchandise, unique gifts and participants' creations for purchase.
